Arteast is a highly active, not-for-profit visual arts organization in Eastern Ontario that was proud to present a special piece of art in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday. Thirty artists from Arteast created individual triangular shaped paintings that represent a variety of different provinces and territories. Artists used different media such as acrylic, oil, watercolour, mixed media, encaustic, and photography to realize an amazing artwork. The paintings are displayed in the shape of a giant maple leaf to symbolize the Canadian 150 logo and were presented as part of the “Canada Naturally” at the Shenkman Art Centre in 2017. The maple leaf has now found a new permanent home in the front entrance of the Nepean Centrepointe Library. You are welcome to visit this amazing piece of artwork during library hours on 101 Centrepointe in Ottawa.
